Item description from seller

Landscape format, image size 214x342mm on paper 271x421mm. A sepia printed lithographic view on mouldmade paper, sometime folded with three vertical creases (one slightly soiled), nonetheless an attractive view of a fine building. Holloway and Steel are not listed on BBTI therefore they may have operated after 1851; it does however, record a Joseph Holloway as a copperplate printer flourishing in 1830 and a J. Holloway, bookseller and publisher flourishing in 1844. This view of the house, which was built in c.1820 and is now in multiple occupation, shows its splendid frontage on a small rise of ground with a large oak tree dominating the centre ground and more trees and hills in the distance.

Store description

We are located some 20 minutes drive from the M6, Junction 38 and therefore only a 20 mile detour from the main England-Scotland route. Appleby is a town well worth a visit, the coffee pot is always on though refreshment with ¿a little more authority' can be had if the Crown & Cushion in the town's market square is open! Our Bookroom is open by appointment. We will be happy to send pdf copies of our catalogue by email.
