Incisione in rame, colorata d'epoca, mm 230x338; tratta da "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum" il primo atlante moderno, comprendente carte di tutte le zone del mondo; la geniale intuizione di Ortels, latinizzato successivamente, fu appunto questa: prima d'allora la produzione cartografica era stata irregolare, locale a livello di produzione ed i pochi atlanti, i cosiddetti "Atlanti Lafreriani" erano costituiti su richiesta raccogliendo carte di alcune zone, ignorando le altre. Ortelius riunÏ in un unico corpus la produzione cartografica eterogenea del periodo, costituendo la base per un'impresa editoriale di enorme successo, pubblicata dal 1570 al 1612. Fascinoso esemplare molto ben colorato e ben conservato. Margine sinistro breve come ovvio e consueto (essendo la parte sinistra del foglio occupato da altra carta.) Nr.cat: P5280004.

Libreria Antiquaria Perini was founded in Como in 1968 by Carlo and Ruth Perini, who moved to Verona in 1970 and in 1972 based the gallery in via Sciesa 11. It's now ruled by Alberto and Marcus Perini, the second generation in this family-business, with the help of Marcus' wife Antonella. We published 50 catalogues of antique and rare books, maps, decorative prints and old masters.
