16x13cm, on folio text page (26 x 13 cm) with decorative initial C. Hans Holbein (1497-1543) was originally from Germany, but appointed the English King Henry VIII's painter in 1536. He is considered one of the greatest portraitists of the 16th century. - Engraved by Nicolas de Larmessin (1632-94), eminent French printmaker and publisher.
