Add to basketAntique print, titled: 'L' e des embarquement de la Reyne a Gorcom' - (The embarkation of the Queen in Gorinchem). It shows several sailing ships on a river. Etching on hand laid paper. Description: De la Serre's 'Histoire de l'entree de la Reyne Mere du Roy tres Chrestien dans les Provinces Unies des Pays-Bas' (London, Raworth, 1639). Very rare.Artists and Engravers: Anonymous. Illustrations for other works by De la Serre were engraved and signed by the Flemish painter and draughtsman Andries Pauli (Andries Pauwels; 1600-1639). Perhaps he was also connected with this publication as an engraver or preparer of the sketches. However, none of the plates are signed. The author of this work is Jean-Puget de la Serre (1594-1665), a French author and dramatist. He was part of the court of the exiled French Queen Mother Maria de Medici from 1628-1635. Condition: Very good, given age. Light soiling in margin. A few small stains in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
