(Leipzig, F. A. Brockhaus, [ca. 1910]. Bildgr��e ca. 12 x 18 cm; Blattgr��e ca. 15,5 x 24,5 cm. Feinkartonpassepartout. Der Wisent oder Europ�ische Bison (Bison bonasus) kam bis in das fr�he Mittelalter in den Urw�ldern von West-, Zentral- u. S�dosteuropa vor. Diesem Lebensraum entsprechend ist der Wisent nur in kleinen Herden von 12-20 Tieren (K�hen u. Jungtieren) anzutreffen; Bullen halten sich nur w�hrend der Brunftzeit bei den Herden auf. 1952 konnten die ersten freilebenden Wisentherden im Gebiet des heutigen Nationalparks Bialowieza an der polnisch-wei�russischen Grenze wieder ausgewildert werden. Heute leben dort ca. 2000 Exemplare.- R�nder leicht gebr�unt,; gutes Exemplar.
