Chevonceil Echols

CheVonceil Echols was born in Buffalo New York. She is the youngest of three girls. She was encouraged to be a writer by both of her parents who were educators. She has followed in the footsteps of her late grandfather Harry L. Anderson, Jr. who was a prolific poet.

Che as she is fondly called, self-published her first book in 1984 at 37 years old. In 2017 at the age of 73 and after receiving her PhD in Christian Counseling, published her second book, Songs for My Hair (lyrics of love life loss and surviving breast cancer). In 2020 she published two more books. Kissing Walls/Dancing with Doors/Under the Staircase and other poems and Pages from My Passport A Poet's Journey. Her poetry is inspirational, motivational and relatable.
