If you close your eyes, you can maybe picture Placentia, Newfoundland and Labrador, where I live. It’s an expansive rocky beach, now covered with buildings and roads surrounded by the ocean and several large rocky outcrops. In the past, it was favoured for its fishing, primarily because they could be dried on the naturally rocky beach.

This landscape and its attendant history served as the perfect canvas for my first book, The Placentia Area — A Cultural Mosaic. It addressed the history, as well as a touch of geology, of the region, from the distant past to modern times. The Placentia area also served as the inspiration for my second book, Maybe They’re Not So Bad After All (on www.lulu.com). It was an attempt to shine the light on animals who, on first sight, are less than alluring. But in the context of their rich histories, their story emerges.

I've published my last two books through the publishing company I created -- "Follow Your Heart Books."

Most recently, I decided to take a leap of faith and try my hand at fiction. A Hard Road to Forgiveness has been my attempt at exploring the lengths to which it may be possible to forgive, both others as well as ourselves.
