I am seventy one years old. Retirement has given me the opportunity to devote more time to my longstanding interest and passion for creative writing. Fortuitously Amazon Kindle has provided me with a welcome outlet. Poetry, stories for children and young adults and historical fiction has been the result. Inspiration and background material for my efforts has been drawn from my career as a teacher, social worker and from my hobbies of ornithology and gardening. Naturally I hope readers will find something in my portfolio to interest them.

I also write a monthly blog on my web site entitled birdsbikesbuttercups.com. It informs subscribers that a proportion of my Amazon Kindle royalties is donated to the charities KIVA and Tree Aid
