Doug Reynolds is an organizational psychologist, advisor, author, coach, executive, and board member specializing in the use of people data to enhance leadership performance and reduce corporate risk. As an advisor, Doug consults with organizations to design and implement leadership assessment programs and was the lead developer of some of DDI’s flagship leadership and executive assessment programs. His work includes the design of hiring, promotion, and succession systems for companies such as Walmart, General Motors, IBM, and Procter & Gamble, and he has been a lead consultant in complex talent integration projects including the merger of Bank of New York and Mellon Financial.
As a board member, Doug advises several technology companies in the human capital management space. As a coach, Doug has worked with executives across levels and industries, using assessment insights to reframe executive challenges and open new paths of opportunity. As an executive at DDI, Doug manages the company’s venture fund and is responsible for the company’s global technology and analytics teams. Prior to his work at DDI, Doug consulted with US Government agencies and several branches of the military on issues related to the assessment of leadership capabilities.
Doug is a Fellow in the American Psychological Association and in the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology where he has served on as an elected member of the executive board and as president of the Society. He has researched, published, and given keynote addresses on the intersection of technology and psychological assessment for creating leadership insight and elevating organizational effectiveness. Doug co-edited Next Generation Technology-Enhanced Assessment (2018) and the Handbook of Workplace Assessment (2010) which won the Academy of Human Resource Development’s Book of the Year award. He also coauthored the book Online Recruiting and Selection (2009). His work has appeared in professional journals as well as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, the Journal of Management, and the International Journal of Selection and Assessment. Doug’s PhD and MA degrees are in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
