John G. Richards graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, The South Carolina Executive Institute, and he attended the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is the son of a career Marine Corps Colonel, and the brother of a Marine Corps Colonel, and the brother of an Army Colonel. He was born on the USMC Base Quantico, Virginia, and lived at: Camp Lejeune, NC; San Diego, CA; Fort Leavenworth, KS; Norfolk, VA; USMA West Point, NY; Washington, DC; Parris Island, SC; and many other places. He was the Chief Insurance Commissioner of South Carolina for over a decade and he has authored THE FISH HOUSE GANG, A SOUTHERN SON, and BACK TO THE SEA. He lives in South Carolina.
