A beautiful full-colour print of a painting of the Ptarmigan (male and female, winter and autumn) by Archibald Thorburn. An antique plate printed on stiff card, guaranteed to be over 100 years old.This print was taken from a disbound book taken from a four-volume set called 'British Birds' by Archibald Thorburn. This particular edition was published in 1918 by Longmans, Green and Co., London. A little rumpling to left-hand edge, light marking and scuffing but otherwise clean. Mounted and matted with white acid-free card, measuring 12" x 16" (30.5cm x 40.6cm) with a window size of around 10" x 12" and comes in a cellophane bag. This would make for a lovely gift and may appeal to those interested in British birds, nature, art and the work of Thorburn.
