Christopher Plummer’s “In Spite of Myself: A Memoir”

I’m always a bit skeptical of celebrity autobiographies. Just because someone is a celebrity doesn’t mean that they can write well or even has an interesting story to tell for that matter. Too often celebrity written titles are published based on sales generated by the status of their name alone.

I was pleased to see that Christopher Plummer’s “In Spite of Myself: A Memoir” has received good reviews in the New York Times. In fact, Alex Witchel states,

“…it is the most welcome of surprises to discover that this actor writes and reports almost as well as he acts. No kidding.

For some odd reason it’s comforting to know that the man I’ve watched a dozen or so times sing Edelweiss, has a story to tell and can tell it well.
