10 Sports-Related Books You Needn’t Be a Fan to Enjoy

I appreciate this Flavorwire post of sports books that anyone can enjoy, whether they’re a die-hard sports enthusiast, or much like myself, just a book-nerd with little to no interest in most sports. I’ve recently discovered books outside my usual reading-comfort zone that I’ve enjoyed tremendously (Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand comes to mind – it’s non-fiction, and it’s about war and sports, which would usually be three ticks in the no box for me, but my God, what a fantastic read), so am wanting to branch out a little and broaden my horizons.

So…perhaps a sports book? Intriguing. Here are the 10 Flavorwire suggest:

Moneyball by Michael Lewis

Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby

Death in the Afternoon by Ernest Hemingway

Loose Balls by Terry Pluto

Back from the Brink by Paul McGrath

What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami

Little Girls in Pretty Boxes by Joan Ryan

My Losing Season by Pat Conroy

Garrincha by Ruy Castro

Anything by David Foster Wallace
