Original 110 page mimeographed shooting script using the working title, Hood of Violence, which belonged to African-American actor James McEachin in his first film performance in a long career. The film was directed by Ted V. Mikels and star Richard Gilden, Rima Kutner, Harry Lovejoy, Max Julien, Jakie Deslonde, James McEachin as Lonnie. The resulting film was an historic independent American film dealing with racism which tells the story of an light-skinned African-American Jerry Ellworth who is a Los Angeles jazz musician with a white girlfriend. In an Alabama diner during the Civil rights movement a young black man attempts to exercise his civil rights by sitting at a local diner. When the Ku Klux Klan learn of this, they firebomb a church, killing Jerry's daughter. When he learns of this, Jerry moves to Alabama to infiltrate the group responsible for his daughter's death. He becomes a member of the inner circle, befriending the local leader and his daughter, and soon exacts his revenge. Actor James McEachinÕs early life experiences were in the military, as a policeman, a fireman, and a record producer. He turned to a career in show business, and was often cast to highlight his African-American heritage with successful roles in such well-known television series as Hawaii Five-O, Mannix, and Dragnet. He was cast in the pivotal role of the d.j. in Play Misty for Me with Clint Eastwood. He starred briefly in his own series as detective Harry Tenafly, in Tenafly. Many of us remember him for his terrific work as police lieutenant Brock in the 1986 television movie Perry Mason: The Case of the Notorious Nun - a role he would reprise throughout the years. A very rare script.
