A. from Middlebury College and earning both her M. A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University. In 1961, she joined the Department of History at Cedar Crest College. Throughout her career, Kenney studied seventeenth-century Dutch-American culture. Her books include: Gansevoorts of Albany (1969), Stubborn for Liberty, The Dutch in New York (1975), and Access to the Past, Museum Programs and the Handicapped Visitors (1980.) At the time of her death, she had prepared two books for publication: An Albany Girlhood (1990) by Huybertie Pruyn Hamlin and edited by Alice P. Kenney and Moods and Meditations, Poems (CA 1990). These were both published posthumously. Huybertie Pruyn grew up as a child of privilous. Her parents were esteemed and wealthy members of the Albany community. But Huybertie often found the restrictions placed on hier because of her family's wealth and position uncomfortable. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
