Corners bumped and some toning and occasional scuffs to the boards, but binding tight overall. First page present is the half-title page. It's not clear if there used to be a blank free-endpaper. Some tape repair at the front hinge. Return address sticker being used as a bookplate on inside front cover. Title page dated 1906. Copyright page sages Published October 20, 1906. Title page and frontispiece have color illustrations. 140 pages. 11 full page, full color, plates and orange/black illustrations at the head of every chapter and a few others as well. There is a small clear-tape repair on the dedication page. Text block tight, pages clean (though paper overall is faded a tone off white). Measures about 12.25 x 9.25 inches. The illustrator, Frederick Richardson, is best known as the illustrator of a few of Baum's Oz books, though he remained active from then (1904) through the early 1930's. This title is extremely scarce; there is only one copy located on the WorldCat catalogue (at Vassar). Extra shipping will be required because this is an oversized books and deserves a box.
