Pictures by Fiore Mastri (illustrator). Billy and Ann are delighted to find that Mr. and Mrs. Robin have begun to build their nest on a stepladder that rests against the porch. The children watch the robins day by day and learn how the birds guard their eggs and feed the baby robins. This is a charming story containing authentic nature lore. It is based upon an actual incident that happened on the author's back porch. The story is written in simple language easy enough for children to read by themselves. The brilliant full-color and black-and-white illustrations are done by Fiore Mastri, well known for his beautiful color work in Runner for the King. Former owner's name in ink on free front endpaper. Overall very good condition. Dust jacket has a little light chipping and creasing but is overall in very good condition. Small 4to. 8-7/8" x 7-1/8". Unpaginated (32 pages, all with illustrations.).
