Octavo; 406pp. Two mounted color illustrations (including frontis) with 16 black and white plates, all present. Publisher's green cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Boards rubbed with bumping at corners and spine ends, a vertical crease to cloth down center of spine, and a light, inward bow to both at fore-edge. A few pages towards rear dog-eared. Cracks just starting to rear hinge, and textblock opens easily between a few gatherings, but binding is holding soundly. Pages unmarked. Biography of the Arizona Governor, California Senator, explorer, and military officer. [COWAN & COWAN p. 38].
