No names or markings. ; SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on the front free endpaper. Biberman studied in Philadelphia, Paris and New York before moving to the southwestern US where he became an important part of the mid-century art movement first in Navajo country and later in Los Angeles. He was also, with his brother (who was one of the Hollywood Ten) , accused of Communistic leanings in the HUAC hearings. His mural, Los Angeles Prehistoric Spanish Colonial, was painted in 1940 for the US Post Office and Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles, later removed and ultimately returned to the Courthouse in 2003. The works in this volume were accomplished during the years of 1937 to 1953. B&w plates after works by Biberman. Nice bit of California and Los Angeles mid-century modern history. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; Signed by Author.
