Baroness Brassey was a best-selling travel writer who chronicled her family's world travels aboard their luxury yacht, the Sunbeam. Her first published work was "A Voyage in the Sunbeam" (1876) which documented their achievement of being the first to circumnavigate the globe in a steam yacht. On her travels, Lady Brassey collected ethnographic and natural history specimens which were later displayed in her London house before being donated to the Hastings Museum in 1919, where they still are today. In The Trade traces the Sunbeam's travels to Madeira, Trinidad, Venezuela, Jamaica, the Bahamas, the Bermudas, and the Azores. Book.
