"Collection of 125 hand-colored, double facing plates known as Munchner Bilderbogen, showing costume from Roman times to the 19th century; illustrations by well-known artists in the latter half of the 19th century were published by Braun & Schneider in two editions, 1890-95 and 1904; no publication date in this volume; original blue cloth covers with gold and black titles and front illustration; gilt slightly rubbed but still bright; decorative endpapers; covers faded and worn; spine covering split along front edge and torn, with 1/4" missing material, at top and bottom; hinges cracked; internally very good; paper toned but with no internal marks; all text in German; reference material leafed in; not ex-library.".

    Hardbound. Blue gilt decorated and embossed cloth with image in middle of cover. 125 folding color plates printed on thin paper and french-bound, with no apparent pagination, but discontinuous but consecutive numbering begining with 296 and ending with 1218. Text is in Old german. Includes a Table of Contents at the front prededing the plates. VG, ex art library with only a bookplate, no external markings, really a very solid copy.
