Corners are bumped and a noticeably frayed and spine ends are crushed, with some small splits and chips. Book has a forward lean.

Rated merely "acceptable" because of damp stains along lower edges and some smudges on fore-edge of t.pl. but the strong paper is otherwise clean and completely unmarked except for name of former owner on front end page. Although gutters are cracked, the binding is firm. 248 p., plus index, with many ill. (frontis. reproduction of "The Battle of Lexington" by Henry Sandham) engravings and period photos that make this a valuable acquisition. Pictorial boards in shades of green , yellow and beige are discolored with lettering effaced on sunned spine; bumped corners and some rubbing at crown and foot of spine panel. Rear board stained.
