The cofounder of the American Society of Composers, Artists and Performers in 1914 (and later president) composed numerous hit songs for the Ziegfield Follies. ALS, 1p, 7" X 10½", Great Neck, NY, 1947 January 16. Addressed to Neil MacNeil. Fine. To this "New York Times" executive attempting to arrange speakers for the Dutch Treat Club, Buck comments: "I know he [J. Edgar Hoover] is a very busy guy these days but he has never broken his word with me in 20 years. Heíll come and I trust it will be soon." With original envelope, addressed by Buck. Accompanied by a superb 8½" X 6½" news agency photograph of 1947 showing Buck with bandleader Fred Waring and lyricist Deems Taylor at a Senate hearing protesting juke boxes -- itself a quite scarce and desirable image.
