Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. 1924, 130pp. G+ in fair only dj which is chipped and well worn and has a 2.5 x .5 inch open tear at the top of the front panel. Casanova's Memoirs end in 1774, when he was fifty years of age. This volume gives an outline of Casanova's life from that point to the time of his death in 1798. Giacomo Casanova, (1725-1798), born in Venice, is best remembered for his Autobiography, regarded as one of the most authentic sources of European social life during the 18th century, and for his complicated affairs with many women, which accounts for his name being synonymous with the term "womanizer." He associated with European royalty, popes and cardinals, as well as with such luminaries as Voltaire, Goethe, and Mozart.
