cloth. Condition: Fine. First edition. Blue cloth. 361 pp. with index. Illustrated with photos. The commanding officer of the Newark, New Jersey Police Academy offers this text on modern (at least as of 1939) police work. With sections on arrest, investgaions without loopholes, developing powers of observation, writing reports, guidance on acceptable evidence, firearms, the police lab, fingerprinting, police photography, modus operandi files. A tight fine example, some offsetting to the endpapers. Rather a scarce title. No dust jacket (none issued?).
