Internally, inked out previous owner's inscptn on paste-down front endpaper, name Mary Eleanor Evans on paste-down rear endpaper, neat underlining and marginalia on approximately 30 pages, mainly at beginning of book, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp. Helena Chalmers wrote several books on the stage, including "The art of make-up, for the stage, the screen, and social use" (1925) and "Clothes, on and off the stage; a history of dress from the earliest times to the present day" (1928). She was Instructor in Make-Up, American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
