Clean green cloth boards with red, black and yellow decoration (soldier with sword standing between two potted trees), black lettering on cover; black lettering on spine. Small spots of wear-through at spine corners. Binding is tight, hinges are sound; the front and rear paste-down had an issue of some kind at publication, both have a ragged vertical seam. Previous owner inscription and date (1911) neatly penned on front free endpaper. Illustrated by Clarence F. Underwood, with full color frontispiece illustration.
