Book shows light wear with original maroon buckram covers, spine lettered in gilt, bright and clean paper, rough cut at page ends, discolored / foxed at front and back endpapers only, rough gilt at top edge. Binding is solid and square, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Previous owner's name and sticker in front section of the book. Limited edition, limited to nine-hundred and twenty-five copies, stamped at bottom back page with embossed "This book is out of series for review." 335 pages. Edited by Edward Garnett, an English literary editor and writer and friend to the author; a notable correspondence; Conrad invited Garnett's detailed criticism of his work and for several years sent him all he wrote, often chapter by chapter.
