First Edition
Decorated Cloth. Condition: Very Good Plus. First Edition. N.d., 1887. Oblong, 23 by 27 cm. 48 pp. A tour of the streets of Paris and the various contretemps encountered, most involving in some way horses, whether working or sporting horses. Thus we encounter the collision of horses with modern technology, from bicycles to electrified trams. The humor is somewhat dry and ironic. While one here can enjoy a glimpse of the pre-automobile city, there is enough that is recognization in the various accidents, activities, pretensions, and confusion that one might nod in recognition of many of Crafty's remarks. Binding is near mint in terms of the brightness of the cloth and imagery. Light foxing in early leaves, then only occasionally. Most leaves are clean. Tiny pinprick hole on FFEP where there is the remnants of a seller's small price tag.
