Snyder, and Frank Cresson Schell (illustrator). 17pp extract, printed in double columns, illustrated with 13 drawings, minor water-staining at edges, salvaged from a damaged issue of Harper's New Monthly Magazine, Volume 88, No. 525, February, 1894. The iron industry. Illustrations include the Edison Magnetic Process, various examples of fractures of iron and steel bars, a scene of surface mining near Trexlertown, Pennsylvania, a scene of tapping the furnace into ladles at the modern blast-furnace at Bessemer, Pennsylvania, primitive Hindoo iron-workers, the Catalan forge, a diagram of a modern blast-furnace, the great steam-hammer at South Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a scene of the process of moving from the puddling-furnace to the squeezer, and a scene of rolling sheet-iron. Housed in protective mylar report cover.
