His 1955-1958 volumes on "The Luger Pistol (Pistole Parabellum)" are quite possibly the longest in-print books of their type on record. Having resided in Europe in the decades between 1965 and 1985, he has acted as a technical consultant for military museums and police administrations throughout the continent and also holds one of Egypt's highest civil decorations, awarded by President Hosny Mubarak, for his long and outstanding services to the Egyptian Department of Antiquities.
