Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. The history of Harley-Davidson in French. Est il possible? Oui, Oui. That's all the French I remember. This appears to be the first edition. The last page tells us that it was published 31 Octobre 1991 and there are no additional printings referenced (NAP). The book is very heavy and the shipping, if bought outside the United States, would be much higher than the cost of the book. The book is in very nice condition. There are a tremendous number of color photographs. All the pages are exceptionally clean. There is a light bit of toning at the white margins, which is common with glossy paper. The pages are in excellent condition. After a very small, thin crease just below the top corner of the first six pages, I'm not seeing any creasing or other kinds of wear. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The black covers of the book are in nice condition. There is a little, thin crease just beside the front top corner. The gilt lettering on the front and the gilt design on the spine are both nicely bright. The cover edges are in generally good shape. There is one small thin tear in the cloth just adjacent to the top corner of the rear cover, also a tiny spot of rub-through at the rear top corner, and a speck of rubbing at the front top corner. Everything else on the edges looks perfect. All three page edges are very clean. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The inside covers and end papers are black. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It would be rated higher were it not for the loss at the bottom edge of the front cover. There is also some smooth rubbing and a few scratches on the rear cover, and there is some creasing at the bottom edges of the front cover and spine, and at the top and bottom edges of the rear cover. The flaps are in nice condition, just a little crinkling. The jacket is not priced or clipped. It will be fitted with a large protective cover after the photos are scanned. This is a nice option for French-speaking people within the United States where the shipping will only cost you five dollars. Whatever the sellers from France are quoting as their shipping prices they will be informing you later that due to the excessive weight of the book the shipping cost will be much higher. The book itself weighs over 5 pounds, packed it will probably be over 6 pounds, both weights require Priority Shipping which likely will run somewhere in the $50-$70 range. At least that's the case with sending the book from the United States to France.
