Hard Back. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. 534 Pages Indexed. This is a limited 750 copy 1961 reprint edition of the 1932 William Abbatt publication. Red buckram lettered in gilt (gold) and top page edges are also in gilt. No defects noted save a very slight, barely noticeable, spine cock. Binding is tight and pages flawless. Cover corners are pointed. Arnold's weakness was that he was first and always a Connecticut trader. As a military man he was an opportunist without much more than local Foot Guard training, but impulsive enough to make flamboyant military forays which luckily paid off. His career was clouded, but he was still a hero and a country apparently owes its heroes something. Washington gave this hero the command at West Point and the rest is universal history. Contents In 34 Chapters: A King in Gwentland, A Outh inn Old Norwich, A Son of the Havens, he governor's Guard, In the Name of Great Jehovah, Admiral of the Lake, Girt for the Wilderness, The Terrible Carry, Aping Immortal Wolfe, Under Saulte-Au-Matelot, Then Came Wooster, Downrush from Canada, The Tongue Clackers, A Viking at Valcour The Seamy Side of Patriots, Jilted by A Woman and Congress, Valor at Half Price, British Lion Moving, Stanwix, On Bemis Heights, He Put and End to It, What Has Glory Brought Us, Philadelphia, Belles, The Opportunist, Beginning of Treason, Trial by His Peers, Whom the Gods Would Destroy, Week of Stupidity, Conscious of His Rectitude, World Turned Upside Down, The Exile, In Foggy St. John, Never Despair, and A Ynir Breathes His Last. Plus Preface. Three Appendices - Footnote References, and Literature Consulted.
