Dickens wrote many short stories for magazines; the first four stories are some of his earliest and originally appeared in the "Monthly Magazine" in London in 1832 and 1833. Other stories in the book were published in subsequent years until the last which was released in about 1868. This book is beautifully bound in a full brown leather binding with 22 kt gold spine and cover decorations. The spine has four raised bands with five decorated compartments. All edges are gilt, and the book has silk green moire end papers with a green silk ribbon bookmark. The pages are acid-free and they are smyth-sewn, not glued. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no owner names and no bookplates. ; Color & B&W Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 423 pages.
