A left-folded narrow glossy booklet measuring 4" by 9-1/8" showing front and rear covers; when unfolded contains eight pages with each page measuring 8" by 9-1/8". Printed a few months before the end of World War II in the European Theatre, there is a one-page map showing the Eastern routes ("IN A NATION AT WAR, MINUTES MATTER! Try the Great Silver Fleet"); four pages contain ten extensive Southbound and Northbound Eastern Air Lines flight schedules; one-page Information - Tickets; and one page General Information. The rear narrow cover contains a daily calendar for June, July and August 1945. In addition, there is an illustrated Eastern Air Lines envelope containing a completed Passenger's Receipt. Condition: the Schedule booklet shows light edge and cover wear in places; five short pen swipes to the Eagle on the front cover; the accompanying envelope shows cover and edge wear. Captain Rickenbacker's Story: Of the Ordeal and: Rickenbacker, Eddie [Edward

Rickenbacker, Eddie [Edward Vernon Rickenbacker (October 8, 1890 - July 23, 1973) was an American fighter ace in World War I and Medal of Honor recipient. With 26 aerial victories, he was America's most successful fighter ace in the war. He was also a race car driver and automotive designer, a government consultant in military matters and a pioneer in air transportation, particularly as the longtime head of Eastern Air Lines.
