Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Plus. Eulalie and Lois L. Lenski (illustrator). It seems to me that this 1933 edition is in unusually good condition. You can see the covers in the photos. The front cover looks very good, a little of the red from the spine migrated onto the front. There are some very light penciled lines within the red letters on the front. The spine ends have a little rubbing and light loss, the bottom a little fraying. The rear cover looks good. There's a light discoloration just off the spine a little ways up from the bottom edge. Three of the four corners have just small spots of rub-through. One has no rub-through at all. The six edges are in very good shape, no rub-through except for a tiny spot just adjacent to the bottom edge of the spine. The book is pretty square and the spine is pretty straight. The book has a reinforced binding. The binding of the book is excellent. The pages are nicely tight from cover to cover. The covers are nicely tight as well. The inside covers and end papers are a mustard color. They look very good. The interior of the book is in excellent condition which one might consider rather remarkable. The pages have some light toning at their margins, but are exceptionally clean. All I found going through the pages was one very small spot on the title page and three consecutive pages with a small tan spot in the same place just off their outer edge for from the print, these the result of a small tan spot on the middle page edge. I didn't see any other stains on any of the page edges. There is an occasional bit of inconspicuous crinkling but no significant creasing, no turned-down corners or placeholder creases. I found two very thin short creases coming down just a bit from the top edge, quite minor. There are many, many illustrations, more in black-and-white than color, but quite a few in color as well, a number of these full-page including the frontispiece (see photo). They are all in very good condition. After the copyright page there is an Index To First Lines. Humpty- Dumpty starts the action on the next page.
