Illustrated with 21 full page, full color reproductions of paintings done by Edna Eicke for the covers of THE NEW YORKER with the descriptive title of each on the bland page opposite the painting. Color reproduction on the title page. Cream colored cloth with gilt letters on the spine and with a vignette in gilt on the front cover of a windmill, the logo of Windmill Books, Inc. Just touches of wear to extremities, covers clean and bright, gilt bright, all illustrations in fine condition, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Additional note at the end of the book: "These are some of my favorite New Yorker covers. They are my happiest memories of times and places of my childhood." Born in Montclair, NJ, Edna Eicke studied and graduated from the Parsons School of Design in Hew YIork. She worked in window display and as assistant to the art director of House and Garden magazine. This was followed by the first of her many New Yorker covers which won her a devoted following. Eicke created 51 New Yorker magazine covers from 1946-1961. Just absolutely delightful illustrations by Edna Eicke and a "must" for any Eicke collector.
