Softcover. Condition: New. 4a.ed. 11x18 cm., Letras Hispánicas 524. 197p., Rústica hilo, Sprache: Spanisch, NUEVO / NEU / NEW. Book First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: New. 1st Edition. Letras Hispánicas, 524. Edited by Angel Esteban. Softcover volume, measuring approximately 4.5" x 7.25", is new. 197 pages. Softcover volume, measuring approximately 4.5" x 7.25", is new. Critical edition of this autobiography of Antonio de Erauso, born as Catalina de Erauso (1585 or 1592 - 1650), who also was known by other masculine names as well as the sobriquet "la Monja Alferez" ("The Ensign Nun"). Erauso spent the greater part of her life in Latin America, performed different jobs and participated in military actions. When he returned to Spain, his fame was already considerable on both sides of the Atlantic. King Philip IV granted her a lifetime pension for her services to the Crown and the Pope allowed her to continue dressing as a man and continue his wandering existence. Although her story is presented through an autobiographical self, we do not know if it was she who wrote it, if another person wrote it under her dictation or if a third party documented the story and narrated some facts in which the fable lends a service to history.
