Consists of essay on music directly linked to George Washington such as patrioitc songs and dances, music he probably heard or knew of, dance music of his times, and later music in commemoration of him, followed by a nice selection of 15 pieces of 18th century music (with lyrics) he would have either heard, or was inspired by him, with background notes, such as "New York's Welcome to Washington", then a selection of 15 dances (music olnly) and some notes on each. Apparently published for the bicentennial celebration of Washington's birthday. Early music; Americana; history; patriotic music.
