A witness to the results of Wounded Knee massacre of 1891, Tibbles was one of the first to report the tragedy to the world. Tibbles's wife was Susette ("Bright Eyes") LaFlesche, a member of the Omaha tribe. Includes a new and substantial 32-page Historical Introduction by Francis Paul Prucha, S. J.
