Owner's name and date 1935 on front endpaper in ink. No other marks or stamps to this tight square book with a near-faultless interior. Laid in is an empty torn envelope date stamped Jan 12 1925 with a 3 cent stamp. Also laid in is an envelope from LEA (Literary Guild?) with two half-cent postage stamps. Inside this envelope are several Literary Guild brochures, Doubleday Monthly Bullletin, and a theatre card touting a Loretta Young and John Boles film. Historical fiction about a sailor who was employed by John Jacob Astor and who dragged Astor's empire down with him into the sea. Contents in Seven Chapters: Overture to Mr. Astor's Opera, Ovide, The Islands, River Mouth, Concomly of the One Eye, Thunderbird, and To the Unknown God.
