Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. 8vo. Engraved portrait frontispiece with tissue guard. x, 450 pp. Illustrated. Original gilt stamped textured maroon cloth. Ex library with usual markings, shallow chipping at the spinal extremities else very good minus. Scarce.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Hardcover, professionally rebacked with brown cloth and new endpapers. Original brown cloth over boards with gilt lettering on spine. A bit of the newer brown cloth visible at head and foot of spine and hinges, but the majority of original spine strip is present. Cloth a bit frayed at corners. Binding is strong. Title and copyright pages dated 1885. 450 pages. A bit of foxing here and there along page edges. Otherwise they remain in good, clean condition. Includes a number of fold-out maps of various battlefields, and black and white plates protected by tissue guards. Please email with questions or to request a few photos.

Very good- hardcover, first edition with matching dates on title and copyright pages, Ticknor & Company, 450pp. Maroon pebble-textured cloth with gold lettering to spine. Ex-library with the following markings: Spine number, 1885 library bookplate and barcode to inside front cover, small pencil notation to title and copyright pages, engravings marked with light red oval ink stamp in unobtrusive areas. This book was shelved next to smaller books and the cloth is sunned in areas not covered by the adjacent books. Chipping to spine foot and approx 1/8" loss at spine head. A few pages have some foxing. Overall, the text block is tight and clean. Binding solid. Photos available. A very good copy of a scarce Civil War memoir.
