Soft cover. Condition: Very Good ++. Maps (illustrator). First Edition. Smeathers, Smothers, Smithers is how the date-line page of this volume commences. Text is 248 pages. The introduction, biblio and Bill's will add another 30 or so. The text is fictionalized history but a photo of the Bill Smothers Park marker - Owensboro, Kentucky appears in the after-notes. William Smeathers is known to have fought against the Red Coats in the war of 1812 -1813 as a member of the Kentucky Cornstalk Militia. He later played a part in the War of Texas Independence. Back cover similar. No names, creases, nor tears. One tiny mark on ffep. Spine is half-cocked. Binding sound. Clean and bright. Minimal wear. Little known American history. Quote (p. 48) : " Late that evening while Mr. Carlisle and Henry Chrisman were discussing the advantages of George and Bill rooming together and attending school, the two roommates had found the ladder could easily allow one to climb to the window sill and that the rye straw was the proper ._._._. ."
