Book
Hardcover. Condition: VG-. No Jacket. 1st UK Edition (1st US-1969). 322 pp.; prev.owner's sig. top front end-paper otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked. Blue cloth covers generally clean and unworn but small patch of partial pigment loss to lower spine and a few trivial flecks of same to back. A passionate U.S.-authored attack on the misguided and damaging way in which writing is (was?) taught in primary schools (writing being the second "R" in the title from the traditionl triad 'reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic'). I originally spotted this book in the crime section of a bookshop.
