Book
Softcover. Condition: Very Good. Very Good 8to 8 1/2" x 9 1/2" perfectbound art monograph with gatefolded pictorial wraps featuring Pamela Wilson-Ryckman's 2003 watercolor work "The Iron Triangle" to front panel, 2006 "The Gulf" to back panel, minimal soiling to front and back panels, otherwise sharp tips, tightly bound, and unmarked throughout. [3] 110 [6] pp., including full-color full-page images, full-color photographs of the gallery space during exhibition, gatefolded images on pages 25 and 79, essay in English by Michelle Grabner on pages 4-7, same essay translated into Spanish on pages 106-107, and list of artworks. Produced in collaboration with Gallery Paule Anglim, and with support from the John Dimon Guggenheim Foundation, in which Wilson-Ryckman was the 2009 Fellowship recipient. Beautiful production of Wilson-Ryckman's watercolor work from 2004-2010 in which she paints abstract, but representational depictions of "natural disasters, acts of terror, and social upheavals" in "watery pools of sepia, blue, red, and green" while playing with ideas of public memory and recall. Acquired from the private library of photorealist, Robert Bechtle and art historian, Whitney Chadwick. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
64 pages. Good copy.
