Hardcover. Condition: Good. Two volume set. 8vo. Volume 1. 1907, second edition, rewritten. Volume 2 1894, first edition. Original publisher s blue cloth, with gilt pictorial front covers and spines. Vol.1, xxiv 657pp. + 2 pages of publisher s adverts, 80 b&w illustrations ,14 fold-out coloured maps. Vol.2 , xvi,574pp.+ 2 pages of publisher s adverts at rear, 47 b&w illustrations, 14 coloured fold-out maps, 2 b&w maps. Shoulders of vol. 1 slightly wrinkled, some wear to edges and covers of both volumes; back corners of Vol. 2 bumped, minor tears in some of the maps repaired with archival tissue; half-title of vol.1 foxed, occasional light foxing to maps and adjoining pages in both volumes; folds and edges of first map in Vol.1 and three in Vol.2 browned and a little worn due to incorrect folding, otherwise pages clean and maps bright.

Hardcover. Condition: Very good- condition. Second edition. Two volume set. Both volumes bound in the original blue/green cloth with gilt and black lettering and decoration. Illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs. Volume one is moderately discolored with numerous tiny spots of flecking or loss of color and both volumes have minor shelfwear, remaining attractive and protected in archival mylar. Vol. I: xxiv, 657 pages of text including an index. Complete with 33 maps and diagrams, of which 16 are folding, most of which are in color. A few maps are torn at the hinge and/or misfolded, and one has a chip at a corner (chip is present). Volume II published in 1908 and revised by A.H. Keane. xvi, 574 pages including an index. Contains 16 maps, of which 14 are in color and are fold-out. A few maps have small tears. The edges of the final 100 pages or so are lightly bumped causing small creases and minor rippling. Minor foxing to the endpapers. Previous owner's armorial bookplate on the inside front cover of both volumes: William P. Adams. Second edition. Size: Octavo (8vo). Book.
