The author of this missionary history was Harvey Kimball Hines (1828-1902), brother of Rev. Gustavus Hines. He was deeply involved in both church and political organization during the early settlement of the Pacific Northwest. He also did stints as professor of theology for Willamette University and Portland University. Signed by Author(s).
