Profusely illustrated with b/w photos. This is the 1980 edition, published posthumously by collaborator and friend Helen Hall after Mills' death in 1976. Signed by Hall on first free endpaper. 8 1/2 X 11" hardcover, 257 pages, brown cloth with gilt title and mule on front. Some scuffing and loss of gilt, and wear to the corners. Previous owner (Melvin Bradley, a noted mule authority at the University of Missouri) has stamped name and address in several places including page edges and highlighted parts of the text. Book is a bit loose but overall solid and quite serviceable. Signed by Author(s).
