Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This hardback book is from the First Edition as published by Routledge & Kegan Paul in 1968. Its present condition is disappointing as some careless handling has caused it to drop quite a few points. The book is in 'Near Fine' condition with one flaw. The book is full bound in light blue cloth but its flaw is that water stains on say 20% of the front cover are obvious. Spine titles are in gilt; nice cream endpapers; numbered pages 392 and all are complete, clean and tight. The dust-jacket is only in 'Very Good' condition and is protected by a removable sleeve. It suffers from obvious paper loss on the front cover just where water fell on the book, and some owner just seems to have ripped out the soggy paper losing a ragged square two inches of front cover paper in total. Having said the above, this book is quite scare and useful in studying Thackeray and the contents of the book are unaffected. Numbered pages run to 392. The size of the book in inches is 8.7 x 5.8 and it weighs 0.70 kg.
