Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Herman Rosse (illustrator). This book is a play. The artwork appears as full pages and full color of the scene changes. This is the wording on the fronts piece: The Great Magoo: A love-sick Charade in three Acts and something like eight Scenes, recounting the Didoes of the young and amorous Souls who nigh perish when they weren't in the Hay together. by telling of the opening night, place and etc of the play. Next is the cast of characters, the synopsis of the scenes and then the play, scene by scene. Among the cast of characters are: Dancing Girls, Amusement Seekers, Etc. Book description: black linen-like cover with title in large green letters, spine similar with title, authors and the publisher Covinci Friede. (this does not appear inside the volume), back cover is blank, light scuffing and fading, no shelf wear. Pages are lightly soiled. End pages are foxed.
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Acceptable. First Edition. The binding is tight, some light handling and rubbing to the boards and corners. Text and images unmarked. The dust jacket has taped repairs and obvious edgewear, spine toned, unclipped, in a mylar cover. 8vo. 208pp.

A play about carnival life; it was the basis for a 1934 Wesley Ruggles film *Shoot the Works*, with Ann Sheridan in a bit part, and then remade in 1939 as *Some Like it Hot*, an early Bob Hope vehicle memorable for showcasing drummer Gene Krupa (and not to be confused with the later Billy Wilder film).
